Background

The idea for DH Box was originally conceived by Stephen Zweibel in the Fall 2013 Digital Praxis Seminar led by Profs. Matt Gold and Steve Brier.

Excerpt from Steve’s DH Box pitch:

“In a classroom setting, it can be a challenge to secure the specialized hardware and software needed to support DH experiments. For humanities students interested in DH but unsure of where to start, I propose DH Box: an accessible, open-source, and inexpensive hardware and software solution for the DH novice. DH Box will lower the barriers to entry currently in place for hands-on DH work, giving humanities students a straightforward, out-of-the box foundation for using, understanding, and ultimately innovating with these tools.”
